SpotlightOn: Janyah Bradley

Janyah Bradley is a 5th grade student in the Montessori program at Oglesby Elementary in the south side neighborhood of Auburn Gresham/Englewood. Her passion is to become an astrophysicist and work in Mission Control at NASA.

Janyah’s teacher has described her as “incredibly hardworking and competitive. She is inquisitive and takes her learning seriously: she regularly made the Principal’s List last year with straight A’s, and is on track doing the same this year with a strong start. Her interests are in all things Science and Math, especially relating to Outer Space and new discoveries.”

Janyah sings in the Chicago Children’s Choir and plays Volleyball for her school. She has addressed the Chicago Board of Education advocating Public Montessori Programs and hopes to bring STEM Classes to her own school.

Janyah is blessed to have a proud and supportive family which includes her Grandmother, Mother Jasmin, Aunt Anne, and younger brother King’ion.
